NEW ALBUM ( and the vinyl revival )

I've begun work on what will be my third album. Sessions commenced 12th Feb 2018 for 21 days, and continue again 31st March, April 1st, and 3,4,5 May.

This is the first time I've had the opportunity to write a record with vinyl release not only in mind, but as the main focus. Some may say I'm daft in today's digital world of streaming being dominant, but I was over the moon when I saw 'Led Zeppelin IV' and 'Abbey Road' for sale recently on vinyl, in Tesco of all places. I can remember the tail end of the original vinyl world, and learnt to play by slowing down records. There is something other worldly about the vinyl experience, that you just don't get with streaming. As an artist it's great being able to think in terms of a side A and side B, where you can change the mood as the record is flipped over.

Of course the art work is also literally art. Streams just get a pixelated JPEG, but I used to spend hours reading sleeve notes and seeing studio pics on gatefold double albums. It was and is part of the getting to know the artist and the process. So I am very excited to say that as well as streaming, CD, download etc the new record will be just that, a RECORD. Written with vinyl in mind, and hopefully attractive to those that love vinyl like I do.
